Words Of Encouragement From The JC.Com Staff

The United States Men's National Team is hours away from embarking on a journey that will have an impact on one end of the spectrum (either extremely positive or extremely negative) based on their result today against Algeria in their final group game of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.  If the Americans win, then all will be right with the sport in this country.  We will get a chance to go to the elimination rounds where anything can happen on any given day and, more importantly, we will continue to soften the hard stance taken by soccer haters in this country.  On the flip side, if we lose, then it won't be the end of the world, but it will be just one more obstacle for U.S. Soccer and everything under its umbrella, the MLS included, to overcome.

So with this understanding of the ramifications of today's U.S. v. Algeria game, the JC.Com Staff had a sleepover in the cafeteria of JC.Com Headquarters last night, which included seances and Ouija Boards, to propel positive vibes in the direction of our team, the only team that matters, Team USA.

We also passed around one of those big greetings cards, which you can buy at Hallmark and sometimes CVS Pharmacy, and had everyone sign it.  Because Intern Todd Stevens passed out from trying to lick the giant envelope, we thought that might be an omen to not send it to South Africa so we decided to share our well-wishes on the blog.  Here's what was written on the inside:

"L.  E.  T.  S.  G.  O.  Lets go, lets go.  L.  E.  T.  S.  G.  O.  Lets go! - Jimmy"

"It's imperative that we win this **** because it's possible that I have a couple grand riding on the game so don't **** it up - Know-It-All Jones"

"I love you guys.  You are my heroes.  Good luck! - JROCK"

"If I could have my daughter marry anyone on the face of the Earth, it would be one of you guys.  Her name is Valerie and her number is 287-9031.  Can one of you give her a call when you're done with the tournament? - Gail"

"My dad and I bleed red, white, and blue.  Make us proud! - The Skipper"

"I shouldn't have done those keg stands last night but I did them for you.  Let's crush those Algerians so it makes this hangover worth it. - Fanista"

"Represent. - Matthew"

"These are the games that people remember, we need this, we have to have it, we can do it, we're behind you, make it happen, go USA! - Jobe"
