What We Are Listening To At JC.com Headquarters...
This past week, in a fierce battle for control over the boom box near the vending machine on the 2nd floor of the main building on the JC.com Headquarters compound, intern Todd Stevens and janitor Jobe McHenry struggled to decide what kind of music should be playing when you’re buying a snack. Todd Stevens believed that Nick Drake’s “Which Will” off the “Pink Moon” album created the best atmosphere for having to make a decision between M&Ms or a Twinkie while Jobe McHenry believed that Reel Big Fish’s “Sell Out” off of the “Turn the Radio Off” album established the same kind of energy boost you look for from a high-caloric snack in the first place. During their tireless bickering and obvious stalemate, pianist Matthew Petrosa, who plays piano during break time in the lobby of JC.com Headquarters, walked by sporting his ringed “What Would Jimmy Do?” T-shirt (which you can purchase HERE), looked at both participants, pointed at his shirt, and said, “What would Jimmy do?”
Todd Stevens and Jobe McHenry shared a good laugh, thanked Matthew for his input, and decided to find a happy medium. They settled on this selection, “Being Bad Feels Pretty Good,” by Does It Offend You, Yeah? off of the “You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into” album, by saying that the name of the song, the name of the group, and the name of the album spoke volumes about what it meant to eat a snack you knew wasn’t in the best interest of your body but you did it anyway.
On a side note, receptionist Gail Sands prefers to hear MC Hammer’s “You Can’t Touch This” because she’s on a diet.
